Following the rhythmic confession of "EL, What You Gonna Do?", we continue our exploration into the intentionality behind every note of EL CAPITXN’s unreleased work.

"Phalaenopsis": An Invitation to Bloom

There is a subtle, poetic invitation woven into the melody of "Phalaenopsis." By invoking the imagery of the moth orchid—a flower known for its unique cycle of re-blooming—the track serves as a beautiful reminder of resilience. It suggests that with the right intentionality, when we are met with a gentle hand and the thoughtfulness we deserve, there is always the potential to flourish in the most beautiful way over and over again.

"I’m your flower Phalaenopsis / Don’t let me fall, don’t let me drop / If I bloom it’s only for you /Even if I rot"

The lyrics also lean into a moment of introspection and reflection with the question, "was it real or just your way to keep me in one place." This highlights EL CAPITXN's ability to capture complex, human nuances within his songwriting—noticing the fine line between care and the things that may keep us stationary.

“I just thought it was love / Every time I tried to speak

/ You were closer I went weak / Was it real or just your way to keep me in one place”

The persistence found in the track—the choice to keep going even when the path is not perfectly clear—is where his detailed storytelling shines. The repetition of "hold me soft but never stop" illustrates a powerful, enduring perspective.

"I’m your flower, / Don’t forget this, / Hold me soft but never stop/ I don’t know if this is love but I can’t get off Phalaenopsis”

To me, even within this awareness, there is a subtle admission of knowing what is needed to flourish. It evokes the idea of trusting one's own intuition to decide what is right for the journey ahead. It is a testament to the strength found in his lyrics—reminding us that we, too, have the capacity to grow and flourish on our own terms.
