Kang Daniel – “Skyview High” Commencement Event

On August 30, 2025, Kang Daniel made a special appearance at the Skyview High Commencement Ceremony held at The Shops at Skyview in Flushing, Queens, New York. This exclusive event marked the grand finale of a four-week summer series celebrating Asian culture through K-pop, fashion, cuisine, and more. Fans who had participated in earlier events and earned 10 credits were invited to this by-invitation-only ceremony.

The afternoon began with a dance performance, followed by a Q&A session where Kang Daniel shared insights about his career and personal experiences with fans. During the Q&A, he confirmed that he will return to New York City on September 6 for his tour and expressed his excitement to meet fans again, hinting at special plans for the show.

One of the questions focused on his latest EP Glow to Haze, released on June 16, 2025, which Kang Daniel revealed is deeply inspired by his personal life. Another fan asked how long it takes him to learn a new choreography, to which he explained that it typically takes around four hours to fully master a complete routine.

Following the Q&A, Kang Daniel presented the dance competition prizes, posed for a collaborative portrait with Korean artists and fans, joined a sushi-making session with a chef while presenting the bento competition prize, and judged the “Pick Me! Uniform Competition.” During the event, one lucky fan expressed a wish to see him dance and share the stage. Kang Daniel immediately performed his hit Movie Star, thrilling the audience with an energetic performance, met with enthusiastic cheers and applause. Additionally, Niel, known from Produce 101, captivated the crowd with his own dance performance. When a young fan named Nyeri asked to dance alongside him, Niel happily accepted, fulfilling the fan’s request.

The celebration concluded with a group photo, where everyone shouted the message, “study hard together.” Earlier in the day, Kang Daniel had mentioned that his favorite subjects in school were history and science. With music, dance, food, and art taking center stage, his presence as an ambassador highlighted the pride of Asian culture and brought the summer series to a meaningful close.
